I would definitely come back if sleeping conditions are upgraded and hot water provided , but I would avoid staying Frid

Beautiful house with only 5 rooms in an amazing beach. the staff was excellent, cordial, professional and the cook worked around their fixed menu that consists basically of fish and seafood , preparing delish vegetarian dishes for myself and my friend. Sunsets are indescribable and the property is kept impecable at all times .

The mattresses are so hard , with springs that it was almost impossible to have a good night sleep . pillows just ok but mattresses need to either be upgraded or covered with a layer of foam mattress topper . there is no hot water in any of the rooms but the suite the residence is not exactly cheap and the price calls for better mattresses and hot water There are no options for snacks other than some seafood , no cheese , no nuts, nothing to have with a cocktail before dinner the kitchen closes by 7.30 pm which is way too early having into consideration that sunset is happening around that time menu deserves to be updated taking into consideration other diet preferences other than fish and meat . boats arrive around noon until 4 pm to use the beach and the restaurant , it gets crowded and noise and the guests that are staying at the Residence need to put up with loud music, drank boaters and the smell of gasoline

Wonderful hotel, private beach, nice rooms. Everything is very tastefully decorated. You feel like you're in a country villa.

Staff not very helpful.The hotel is on an island, the exit from the area is complicated (so we were told by the staff) and the prices of food and drinks are very, very high - we had to pay 2USD for each small bottle of water.

Everything. The house is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with local arts and crafts, the powder white sand and pristine crystal water, the food, those mojitos, and the friendly helpful staff.

If I have to say anything … it would be the flush of toilet. to avoid any problem do not put any paper…

The buildings and decor are nice. The staff is nice until something goes wrong.

It is located right next to a party beach so all day from 11am-6pm you have a disco next door with load jet skis ,boats, loud music snd people screaming all day. El hotel esta Ubicado directamente al lado de una playa de fiesta entonces hay mucho ruido todo el día. Also, the wifi wasn’t working and they lied about it. They also were extremely difficult about reducing the price of my stay because of it. They even threatened to hold me there and miss my flight. Cuidado si algo no funciona … el management está súper difícil y 0% amable . I do not recommend this place. No recomiendo el hotel. It is pretty but I don’t trust the management to do the right thing if something goes wrong. It is also very loud at the beach all day.

Beautiful colonial beach house, on a tropical beach which is as pretty as it gets

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, very spacious with plenty of places to sit and have breakfast. The food is great but pricy, but then again you're in a beautiful beach resort in a tropical paradise so who cares. The hotel is right on the beach, you open your room doors and the tropical paradise beach is staring you in the face. The staff was great, very friendly.

The service in restaurant and bar closed at 7:30, I guess cause it was low season and we were the only guests. I didn't mind that much, but it was a little weird for all the staff to leave after that. No receptionist, no night guard, no one else at all. We were totally alone in an abandoned hotel, which was a unique experience on its own. We ended up getting drunk on beers and running around the empty hallways which was fun, but it freaked out my wife a little Oh and there's no hot water in the showers.

Really beautiful hotel.

Really beautiful hotel. One staff member and the cleaning ladies were very nice and caring. Beautiful, very lonely beach (even private in the mornings and evenings when the tour participants are gone). Overall very beautiful hotel with very beautiful rooms.

When we were planning to go there, there was no chance to get in contact with the hotel (mail or telephone) in order to pick us up which then led us to do it by ourselves (land & sea) and that turned out extremely stressful, expensive and due to high Sea even dangerous. When we arrived completely soaked wet they told us that the person with this number is currently on Holiday... Overall, the staff was mostly not attentive. If you order food, you’re lucky if you get the entire meal and not just parts of it. Food is quite expensive as the hotel is the ONLY thing on the island. Hence, prices are high and there’s nothing to do a which is great if you feel like it.

Everything was just perfect at this gem of property

A wonderful place to stay a couple of days. Clean, great staff, good food, though a little pricey. The property has its own boat that for some extra can take you to nearby islands where you can find pristine beaches.

Between 10:30 and 15:00 hours tourists from Cartagena arriving by boats swarm the the beach.

The owner was very hospitable and the hotel is on a beautiful beautiful beach. The rooms were spacious, particularly the suite on the first floor.

The hotel staff didn't do anything to keep out the day trippers who invaded all the hotel spaces and particularly the pool to the extent to which it was impossible to use during the day. The influx of boats also means that there was a permanent smell of gas-oil on the beach. The food wasn't very good either which was a shame.

The beach is espectacular and the room is very pleasant!

The beach is espectacular and the room is very pleasant! I loved the pool as well. The drinks also are very good. The beach is worth the whole trip.

Property is not exclusive to hotel guests. The beach is invaded by all sorts of boats parking in the swimming areas. It would be great if the hotel could set aside "parking" space for these boats at one side of the beach to ensure safety and comfort of the guests enjoying the beach. The food seems overpriced for what it is. The dishes are rather basic but prices are triple of regular. Maybe it was the distance to the city which made them expensive. Vendors are allowed on the premises and you get constantly interrupted by them.

Location and outside of the hotel are great

Rooms, food and quality of staff is poor. This hotel is very very overpriced. The price is 5 star but besides the location i dont see any star. Staff is friendly but totally unexperienced. They forget your orders all the time. People from the beach (no guests) go swim in the hotel pool and this is allowed!!

Great location and the beach! Nice cozy house

Very slow service. It is ok to wait for the food but when you get bottle of water after three times asking and 45 mins -it is too much for such expensive price per night. I definitely think hotel is overpriced.

Location is absolutely beautiful.

Property is not exclusive to hotel guests. Vendors are allowed on the premises and you get constantly interrupted by them. Hotel needed to be picked up at night so that guests waking up in the morning had a clean atmosphere. Staff did not arrive to start day until 7:30/7:45.

Service was very slow and often had to repeat orders. The beach is not exclusively for hotel guests, lots of boats coming and going all day. Housekeeping was not 4 star standard.

Beautiful beach, hotel needs improvements

The best thing about this hotel is location - the beach is superb with white sand and emerald water, coconut trees and comfortable beach chairs. It would be safe to say it is the best beach of Baru. There is also a large pool for those interested. The house is very charming. It has only 25 years, but it was build in a traditional coastal Colonial style and shape. The staff are friendly and nice. Rooms and bathrooms are of decent size with access to the terraces overlooking the beach. We came for one night arriving early and leaving in the afternoon on the next day. The staff gave us one room right upon arrival around 10am, which was great. The hotel also let us use the rooms up until departure on 3pm with no extra charge.

There are several things that could be improved: 1. The beach is now being invaded by all sorts of boats and waterbikes cruising back and forth, brining with them smell of gasoline and parking in the swimming areas. It would be great if hotel could set aside "parking" space for these boats at one side of the beach to ensure safety and comfort of the guests enjoying the beach. 2. The food is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. The dishes are rather basic and not too big, but prices are triple of regular. 3. The rooms need maintenance, especially the bathrooms. 4. Staff are responsive, but sometimes response time is "Caribbean" :)

Overall experience was Amazing and peaceful. We will definitely come back!

We had the the beach to ourselves. Private, beautiful, quite, peaceful. Crystal blue water. Amazing. The 7 room boutique hotel was charming, it had air conditioning and a pool. Very nice and clean. It is not contemporary looking. But it's well maintained. Didn't know this exsisted. Staff of 5 very friendly. Gloria was amazing. My family loved it - 2 seniors 2 college students and 2 teenagers. If you are looking to get away from people, this is the place to go. A must see, If you go to Cartagena. Bring sunscreen, bug spray and a book to read. We rented jet skiis from the locals. We just relaxed, destressed, family bonding. We had a blast. Highly recommended. "Baru, we will miss you!

The food could be better, but we enjoyed the options. It was pricey. No wifi, but it was great. Our family talked instead of being on the phone.
